We Understand that the price of this trip is high, and we want to make sure that all of our youth students have the ability to raise the funds they will need to come along. We have organized 3 fundraising opportunities for the students. And they will receive a percentage of the money earned based on how involved they are with each event. Outside of the 3 events we have organized, we encourage the students to do fundraising on their own, through sending out support letters to family and friends, or picking up various jobs (mowing lawns, babysitting, etc) to earn money to put towards the trip. Here are the events we have set up that YOU can participate in:
PIGGY BANK FUNDRAISER
You can get an empty money bank from the welcome center at any of our church locations. Then just fill it with SILVER coins and turn it back in to any of our church locations by February 25th.
BAKE SALE - 3/11/18
- Before & after church service on Sunday, March 11, come with your cash to buy some baked goods and/or make additional donations to help our youth students go into the world to make a difference! You may also help the students out by bringing additional baked goods if possible.
- Each student is expected to prepare and bring a baked good for the sale, which will take place at each of our 3 church campus locations on Sunday morning before/after service. Students are also expected to remain at the table during the sale, ready to talk with customers, and also explain their personal story about why they are passionate to go on this mission trip.
TACO & TALENT NIGHT - 4/20/18
- Please come and pay for a delicious dinner while celebrating our youth and all the gifts God has given them! All proceeds will aid in helping our students go on this mission trip to West Virginia. Bring extra money as well for a special silent auction!
- Each student is expected to prepare a talent that they will perform in front of a captive audience. This could be an actual talent, such as singing a song, or preforming a magic trick. Or it could be something humorous or even crafty (ex: making guacamole). Every student must arrive on time, help prepare the tacos, and help serve the tacos to all the people attending the event. As well as helping clean up after the event is over. Additionally, we will have a table set up for a “silent auction” that goes on through out the night. So each student may provide a service, or an item, to be auctioned off. The money they make from their specific service, or item, will go directly to their personal balance.
