Why They Stole From Me

“Get that dirty little squirrel!” She cried!

I just started a garden, and in it, I have a strawberry plant. Not even a full week into having it,  and a dirty little squirrel stole my first strawberry! Well, that’s how my daughter says it.

This being my first garden, I wanted to start it by putting my plants big pots, that way they have room to grow and they are easy to manage. Little did I know, that they still needed to be protected.

I thought that if I put these precious plants into pots, then I wouldn’t have to worry about anything, like weeds or pest.

Well, I was wrong.

When these plants are exposed to the natural world, there is always something that could threaten its growth.

In the same way, our Christian walk is like a plant that is in the natural world.

God gives us everything that we need to grow, but remember that we have to be aware of the things around us that are trying to stop our growth.

The enemy tries to keep us from growing by catching us off guard and unaware of what’s around us.

I want to remind you (and me), that we have to stay alert in our walk with Jesus and stay close to Him as He is our protector. Know that God has given you all that you need to grow.

Be alert and keep a watch for those “dirty little squirrels”!

1 Peter 5:8 “Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up.” (The Message)

Prayer: Dear God, Thank you for giving me everything I need to grow. Help me to stay alert and keep my guard up as I stay close to you.
